Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG)
Please see the attached guides for those of you wishing to brush up on your grammar and support your children with the challenging new expectations.
By the time our children left our school in July 2018, 89% of them achieved the ‘expected’ standard in the Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation test, 37% achieved the higher standard. We achieve this high standard by teaching spelling, punctuation and grammar on a daily basis through high quality texts. We ensure that high expectations in these essential basic skills are maintained in all aspects of writing across the curriculum not just in English lessons.
