Adding – counting on using objects
Can you find 2 dice. Can you change number 6 on each dice to a 0 -either cover them or make up a rule to remember that in this game 6 is not 6!
- Using your 10 frame from your pack, can you roll one dice and put that number of objects on your 10 frame (remember only 1 object per square). Can you roll the second dice and put that number of additional objects on your frame? How many objects do you have now? What would your number sentence say (eg 3+5=8)
Can you have a go at solving your number problem by counting on from the first group of objects on your frame instead of counting the total from the beginning? Eg 3. 4,5,6,7,8.
How many different number sentences can you create?
Can you explore floating and sinking? Try and predict what will happen with each object before you test it? If an object floats, can you find a way to make it sink?
Using pencils, water and brushes, chalk etc Can you practice how to write the letter ‘x’
Remember to go ‘down the arm and leg, repeat the other side’
Can you make a healthy snack? Perhaps you could chop some cheese to go with crackers, or chop some cucumber sticks to go with a yoghurt dip? Can you write a recipe for your snack so someone else knows how to make it?

Can you create a numberline to 20 – either using your number cards, chalks on the ground on a strip of paper etc.
With another player, can you take it in turns to roll the dice and put either your counter (or self, dependant on the size of the line!) on the number you roll. Then take it in turns to roll the dice and count on that number of places. Try and ‘count on’ eg if you roll 3 and you are on 5 count 6.7.8
You could extend the game further by adding a counting backwards twist!
