Peregrine 18th September 2020
Date: 18th Sep 2020 @ 4:06pm
Peregrines have had a busy, busy week! We’ve been so busy that I haven’t even taken any photos (sorry! I will do better next week!)
In English, we’ve been writing letters inspired by the story ‘Here We Are.’ We’ve written our letters to brand new humans to welcome them to our planet, to tell them a little bit about Earth and to give them some advice on how to keep safe, be kind and look after their environment. We’ve written a final draft of these letters for our topic books and we’ll take some photos of them when we’ve added the final touches next week!
In Maths, we have been working on place value. We have been exploring 2, 3 and 4-digit numbers and thinking about how we can represent them in different ways with dienes, part-whole models and number sentences. Some of us had a go at a really tricky number challenge where we had to recognise numbers represented in different scripts.
We have spent some time in the afternoons this week creating beautiful book covers for our learning journals. Once our books are covered and looking lovely, we’ll share some photos with you!
We also completed our first spelling check this week! It’s great that everybody managed to find the spellings on here!
On that note, here’s this week’s homework:
There are two My Maths activities set for place value. One is a catch-up for your child’s previous year group and one is for their current year group. You can choose the one which suits best or complete both if you prefer!
