Buzzard 2nd October

In Buzzard class this week they have been working hard to gain a better understanding of finding fractions of amounts in maths. At the start of the week we had lots of worried and anxious faces, feeling like they didn’t get it, but by the end of the week the comments were “This is easy” and “I can’t believe I was worried.”

During English sessions this week the children have been looking at our text Star of Fear, Star of Hope. Whilst exploring the text they have experienced the sounds of a 1940's French cafe. They have also written some fantastic dialogues and descriptions based on the scene of a French cafe.

Also this week the children have been researching all things to do with Charles Darwin. The fact files they produced were amazing!

The children have been doing really well with learning their spellings each week. I have put the Year 5 and Year 6 spellings on their student pages and I have set MyMaths linked to the fraction work they have been doing this week.
