Ann Lowry - Vice Chair

I am married with three grown up children and live in Smithy Lane, Mouldsworth and became a Community Governor in March this year.  I am a self-employed Event Coordinator, mainly within the motorsport industry.

There are many reasons why I decided to become a Governor at Ashton Hayes. The opportunity to give something back to the community, to help make a difference and, to ensure pupils receive the best education possible by raising and maintaining the standards and performance of the school by  supporting  the headteacher and staff.  I am enthusiastic, committed and have an interest in education, caring about the educational attainment of all our pupils.

As a Governor I decided it would be good experience to attend school more often and, last term, I volunteered to  listen to Year 6 children read and, this term, I have been listening to Reception children and am amazed and pleased by the standards they have achieved and recognise that the input from Governors can be a valued benefit.  I have recently been made the Vice Chair of Governance.
