Week Commencing July 13th

Date: 12th Jul 2020 @ 11:13am

It is hard to beleive it is the final week! It seems very strange to be saying goodbye to such a wonderful class, having not seen many of them in the classroom for many months. It has been an incredibly unusual term and a half which I'm sure has presented with a whole range of emotions, challenges, highlights and ups and downs. We have been so proud of all the activities the children have been doing and have all demonstrated the most remarkable resilience, not to mention abilty to deal with all the changes that have occured.. Can I also take this opportuntiy to thank everyone for all the support with the home learning activities.

On Wednesday, at 9.30, there will be a transition Zoom meeting for all the children to meet Miss Carter befor moving into Sparrowhawk class. If you have not already given consent for a Zoom call, and you would like to join in, please contact Mrs Stubbs.

Later this week, I will add a 'Summer Blog' with ideas and suggestions for areas to work on over the Summer - should you choose to continue with any activities - in preperation for September.

In the meantime, this week please focus on;

White Rose, Home Learning week 12.

Please explore odds and even numbers - use the attached pdf for ideas. remember that odd numbers cannot be shared equally, whilst even numbers can.

Practice all phonics and tricky words, using phonic play games, flashcards and the purple and orange sound mats.

Enjoy stories - can you retell them? can you describe the character? can you write about your favourite part? can you write a speech bubble for one of the characters?

The following website has lots of ideas for science activities to try at home. http://www.clubscikidzmd.com/blog/

When you are out and about, try collecting lots of different materials. Can you have a go at sorting them, talking about the properties and maybe creating a picture with them?

Have a fun week!

Mrs Cuthbert
